For a bleeding diaper rash to be treated the cause should be found first. If the child has very sensitive skin the rash may be caused from perfumes or dyes that are found in diapers, wipes and laundry detergent. Switching to a hypo-allergenic alternative for sensitive skin can help in future break outs.

For the broken areas of skin that occur during a severe rash try treating with an antibacterial cream such as Neosporin. This will help to keep the skin from obtaining and infection and making the rash worse.

After the airing out process and applying the antibiotic cream then putting A&D Ointment or even pure Vaseline over the entire area can also help to treat the area. These ointments will keep any type of moisture from gaining access to the rash and making it worse.
