With the dry winter weather, many of us experience super dry cracked skin. Most of the times the skin is scaly or Flaky and looks very dry. You may experience the following extreme things:

Diabetics develope severely cracked skin. Nobody knows why they. The nerves in the legs and feet do not get the message to keep the skin soft and moist. Once the skin dries out and cracks start appearing, high blood glucose levels allow bacteria to grow worsening the problem. Almond oil and sunflower oil are used in many of the new treatments. Almond oil – rich in minerals and Vitamin A, naturally protective and moisturizing, contains glucosides, minerals, vitamins and proteins that help relieve inflammation, dryness and itching. Sunflower oil, Bay oil, Coconut oil and Cocoa Butter – rich in nutrients, and help moisturize and protect the skin.

Some podiatrists recommend to glue the cracks shut with super glue. The glue dries in seconds, and acts like a cast, holding the skin in place while it heals. Never tried this option. Be careful.
Consult your doctor if conditions are severe. Some people face bleeding problem – especially whose skin is very dry and wash hands often. Some lotions could be allergic but here is a list of creams used by people.
