PR is a skin disorder (see pictures of Pityriasis Rosea below) that invoves a big single patch also called as ‘herald patch’ . After many days , it is followed by a spreading rash. The patch generally shows up on back or stomach. Then additional smaller spots develop within one to 20 days.
Pityriasis rosea is a skin eruption with an initial lesions that is called a primary plaque. This primary plaque is followed after one or two weeks by a generalized secondary rash. This skin rash has a typical distribution and lasts for about six weeks.
Pityriasis rosea is non contagious and people at any age can suffer from this.
